In Harlan we did burro racing and shotgun shooting, and had a wonderful view of the horizon from our campsite. We were in Harlan on day 9 or our trek, and it was a nice place to be after several days of constant rain.

"The activities in camp"

Everybody lines up in preparation for the burro racing to begin. You run around a rock and back while dragging a reluctant burro behind you and trying to prod him along. Fun to do once, but once is enough.

In this photo it's more a case of the burro racing the scouts. Kenny runs alongside while Scott smacks the burro across the backside repeatedly. Talk about fun.

Of all the shotgun shooting photos, this one came out best. So here is Kenny taking part in the shotgun shooting activity.

"Our campsite, and it's view..."

We had a great view of sunrise from our campsite in Harlan. Despite a cloud covered sky, the sunrise was still a great thing to see.

Another sunrise photo. This one appears clearer, but was taken a little sooner than the first photo, and thus the sunrise is not as colorful.
